Injury Claim

WTC Captive was formed with a FEMA Grant amounting to $1 billion to give insurance coverage to New York City and its contractors involved in the debris-removal operation. Due to the terrorist attack, the city had a hard time gathering enough funds for liability insurance for the work done at the site of the World Trade Center. The WTC Captive helps provide settlement systems to compensate injury claims of people who participated in the city’s debris removal and rescue. A special insurance policy is also funded by the settlement which gives additional compensation to plaintiffs who will end up contracting any type of cancer as a result of exposure to toxic dusts in Ground Zero.

Due to a number of cases filed by Ground Zero workers and volunteers, plaintiffs need to submit evidence of their participation in the rescue, clean-up and retrieval operations. Civilians of Lower Manhattan in New York and other areas affected by the after-effects of the World Trade Center attacks are also required to submit sufficient evidence along with other medical records and diagnosis that would confirm their injury or illness to support their complaints.
